Notice to the Public
Due to the decrease in community transmission of COVID-19, effective Friday, April 28, 2023, masking while at Welia Health will be optional for patients, visitors and staff.*
Patients or visitors experiencing respiratory symptoms consistent with COVID-19, currently isolating for COVID-19, who have had a higher-risk exposure to COVID-19, and/or who have had any positive tests upon arrival to our facilities will need to wear a mask.
Masking is encouraged for anyone at risk for severe complications or illness due to COVID-19 and those not up to date with COVID-19 vaccination recommendations. For peace of mind and safety, masks are available at entry points for anyone visiting our facilities.
As a reminder, we believe in visitors’ positive influence on patients, so we are incredibly grateful for the grace extended to us while visitor restrictions, and the unique challenges they presented, were in place throughout the pandemic. Welia Health revised its visitor guidelines on August 10, 2022, which remain in effect. Please see below:
- A limit of two visitors when visiting a patient in our Emergency Department
- Restricted visits to patients staying with us who are COVID-19 positive or under investigation for COVID-19 are allowed only for the following:
- Sudden decline in medical condition
- Consultations with the medical team
- End-of-life situations
Signage is posted at entrances and near masking stations at all locations to remind you of these new updates.

Again, thank you for your trust, support and grace during the three years since the pandemic began. We will continue to monitor our community transmission levels and post any changes, should they be necessary.
*COVID-19 protocol directs any staff member to mask if they:
- have had a high-risk exposure.
- are caring for COVID-19 patients or person(s) suspected of having COVID-19.
- have been asked to by a patient or patient’s family/caregiver to mask.
