Tom Nelson, MD, general surgeon, announces retirement

Dr. Tom Nelson has announced he will retire with his last day being Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Dr. Nelson spent most of his career as a surgeon in the Duluth area, concluding with his last nine years providing general surgical coverage to Mora and surrounding communities. In his final days, Dr. Nelson commented on how Welia Health has been one of the nicest places to work, praising all staff for their quality of care, work ethic and personal demeanors.
