Benjamin Nordenstrom recieves $1000 scholarship from Welia Health Volunteer Scholarship Committee

Each year, the Welia Health Volunteer Scholarship Committee selects one recipient living in either Kanabec or Pine County for a $1000 scholarship for the academic year. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, financial need, leadership, and continuing education in the healthcare field.

This year, Benjamin Nordenstrom was chosen. Mr. Nordenstrom will be attending the University of Minnesota – Duluth this fall, intending to follow a pre-med educational track, upon obtaining his degree, Nordenstrom would like to become a biomedical scientist, and in his words, help the world by researching diseases and viruses.

Benjamin is a graduate of Mora High School and was heavily involved in Student Council, Honor Society and a variety of sports.
