Several months ago, Welia Health made the difficult decision to restrict visitors to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 to patients, staff and caregivers. Since that time, we have closely monitored COVID-19 cases and the community spread of the virus, updating our visitor guidelines when appropriate.
We are happy to welcome visitors back to Welia Health! Because we are deeply committed to ensuring safety, we ask you to follow these guidelines.
Visitors are now allowed within Welia Health clinics, hospital, birthing center, emergency departments and other ancillary services, this includes:
- One visitor, 18 years and older, will be allowed for any adult patient.
- Two legal guardians / parents will be permitted for each child.
- Please do not bring additional children to scheduled appointments
- Compassionate visit exceptions are made for circumstances including but not limited to, end-of-life or sudden decline in medical condition/stability, or if there is a consultation with the clinical team.
- If the patient you are visiting is experiencing respiratory symptoms or are being monitored for a COVID-19 like illness, they will not be able to have visitors.
- Please do not visit if you are experiencing any of these symptoms:
- Fever (>100.0ºF)
- New shortness of breath or cough (excludes baseline chronic conditions, for example COPD or asthma)
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Runny nose
- Congestion
- Please do not visit if you are in quarantine or if you have been exposed to someone who is ill.
What you can expect upon entering Welia Health
All visitors need to enter through the Main Entrance on the Mora campus or the through the Emergency Department after hours. In Pine City and Hinckley, use the main entrances.
- In Mora, expect a screener to check your temperature and ask you several health-related questions.
- In both Pine City or Hinckley, the registration staff will ask you several health-related questions.
While in Welia Health
Please go directly to the patient’s room and stay there for the duration of your visit and limit your coming and going to the facility.
While visiting your family member, friend or loved one in the hospital, visitors will need to sign-in and then will be issued a badge. Please stay in the patient’s room of the person, this helps us limit individuals in common areas.
Safety guidelines for everyone
Wash your hands often while you are here
Please wash your hands with soap and water or sanitize (>60% alcohol concentration) often. Clean hands reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses, including the coronavirus.
Practice physical distancing
Limit your contact with others, this includes healthcare workers you may meet and your loved ones or friends by staying at least 6 feet away.
Wear a mask
All staff, patients and caregivers are required to wear masks while in any Welia Health facility. We encourage you to bring your own mask, but if you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Masks must be worn at all times, including while visiting in a patient room. Only remove your mask if directed by a provider or other member of the care team.

We understand that this may be a challenging time for your hospitalized loved one. Guidelines for visiting persons allow us to help keep our patients, staff, and communities protected.
In addition to in-person visiting, we also highly encourage the utilization of FaceTime, phone calls, and other methods to communicate with your loved one.
