Welia Health donates to the Mora Public Library enhancing the children’s area
The Mora Public Library hosted special guest Randy Ulseth, Welia Health’s CEO, kicking off their Storytime at their grand opening event highlighting the new reading space Welia Health donated to earlier this year.
“We are overjoyed to partner with the East Central Library and promote opportunities that support early literacy. The interactions and seeing them excited about Storytime, reminds me of my grandchildren,” Ulseth commented. He read “The Grizzly Bear Who Lost His GRRRR!” by Rob Biddulph, a perfect title introducing the new space.
In 2019, Weliam was introduced when Welia Health announced their new name and has since been making a debut in country parades, community events, and made available to comfort children during special or stressful times. “What better way to integrate Weliam into our communities and support early literacy than a Weliam’s Corner at the local library,” Ulseth added.
Welia Health has long supported literacy in its communities, giving books to new parents, partnering with Reach Out & Read, Minnesota, sponsoring annual events in local schools during “I Love to Read” month, and providing newspapers to high school classrooms. People with lower literacy levels tend to have less health-related knowledge which leads to less preventative care, poorer control of their chronic illnesses, and increased hospitalizations, than those with higher health literacy.
Go check out Storytime at Weliam’s Corner, Fridays from 10–11 am. Events are posted at www.ecrlib.org and on their event page.
