Dr. Ronald Halvorson, Welia Health’s oncologist, has announced he will semi-retire at the end of the year. Dr. Halvorson will transition to one day per week seeing new consultations and patients in the hospital.
Dr. Halvorson decided against fully retiring in December due to the nationwide shortage of oncologists. During his transition period, Dr. Ettore Piroso will join the Welia Health Team. Virtual appointments will be available at the Mora campus with Dr. Piroso, while Brenda Fisher, NP, will continue to see patients two days each week.
Welia Health is sending a letter to Dr. Halvorson’s patients in the upcoming days notifying them of the decision.
The entire outpatient services care team, including Kristin Johnson, Breanna Ruud, Tammy Smith and the rest of the nursing and support staff are available to answer questions and help navigate any issues that may arise. Outpatient services can be reached directly at 320.225.3637.
