COVID-19 booster shot recommendations

As of October 21, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines in certain populations.

Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna

The following groups are eligible for a booster shot at least 6 months after completion of the two-dose series:

Anyone 65+ years
Anyone 18+ years who lives in long-term care setting
Anyone 18+ years who has an underlying medical condition
Anyone 18+ years who works or lives in a high-risk setting

Johnson & Johnson

Booster shots are available at least 2 months after completion of the single-dose vaccine for individuals 18+ years.

Mix and match

Individuals can now “mix and match” booster doses. Please consult with your primary care provider or pharmacist about whether mixing and matching is best for you.
