Thank you, Welia Health Volunteers!
Always welcoming and willing to lend a helping hand, that describes the volunteers at Welia Health!
Since the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, our volunteers have been sorely missed and we want to express our gratitude to each by acknowledging them during Volunteer Appreciation Week.
Last year, amidst the final construction phase and the announcement of a new hospital name, they were able to secure their new space in the Mora clinic entrance at the Welcome Desk while putting in countless hours to reopen the Gift Shop that closed when construction started in 2017. During all of that, they managed to pull their resources together and make sure Welia Health’s patients and visitors were well taken care of.
The group is made up of 72 volunteers, with 14 new members joining this last year. In 2019, they gave 3,332 hours of their time, which is 895 hours more than 2018. Also, in the past year, they have given approximately $63,000 back to the hospital and awarded two $1000 scholarships to area students.
Welia Health would like to thank the volunteers for their generosity, kindness, and gift of time.
